The main task of the clinical work is renal substitution therapy by chronic haemodialysis and kidney transplantation.

• Identification of potential donor, graft (kidneys, pancreas, liver, heart, lungs) procurement and associated arrangements. Creation and maintaining of donor and recipient register.
• Regulatory rule-making of organ transplantation quality and safety control. Development of ethical principles and compliance guarantee.
• Preparation of patient for kidney and pancreas transplantation.
• Haemodialysis service development in Latvia. Haemodialysis standards processing and compliance.
• Creation of „vascular Access” for patients requiring haemodialysis therapy.
• Kidney transplantation using living and deceased donor organs.
• Pancreas transplantation for diabetes patients (simultaneous kidney-pancreas transplants also).
• Ambulatory treatment of organ recipients, register creation and maintenance. Scientific research in transplantology and nephrology.
• Cooperation  with the Latvian Association of Transplantologists, training and certification of doctors - transplantologists.
• Cooperation with other Transplant Centers in Baltic States and Europe.
